Governance

Governance Structure

National Advisory Board

The entire project is governed by a National Advisory Board of 'eminent persons' who advise the executive on matters of stakeholder management, probity, and dispute resolution, if required. This board also plays a key advocacy role, identifying national collaborative opportunities and mechanisms to raise the profile of AGOG.

Executive Management Committee

AGOG is governed by an Executive Management Committee, comprising key representatives from each discipline and recruitment centre. This committee includes each of the Chief Investigators, in addition to consumer representation, and controls overall strategy and management of the program.

The scientists and clinicians involved in AGOG have already demonstrated experience and success in the integration of disease specific clinical data collections with biospecimen storage, genetics and statistical interpretation, and each investigator has a strong vision for the development of this research program. All protocols for consent, tissue and blood collection, and clinical data collection have been developed by consensus between all stakeholders.

Scientific Research Groups and Operational Team

Reporting to the Executive, the five Scientific Research Groups work intensively in focus groups dedicated to Clinical Outcomes (Neurosurgery, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology), Pathology, Radiology, Medical Genetics and Genetic Epidemiology.

On a day-to-day operational level, the project is managed by a full-time Study Coordinator, part-time Research Nurses / Research Assistants at each recruitment centre, and a part-time Technician specializing in the interpretation and management of MRI data collection.
